Hello have a few questions

Post by EpicJediMaster73 » 09 Aug 2018, 13:25

Well it is my first post on any 501st board :)
My name is Petri i live in Sweden i am a huge SW fan been since i saw ANH fir the first time ever and been hooked ever since.
My question is when it comes to become a member of 501st legion/Rebel Legion i was thinking if i want to be a Jedi is any bought costume firbidden? If so where can one find blueprints for a complete Obi-Wan/Anakin costume also lightsaber is it needed to be built?
Last question how expensive might such a costume become?
🙂🙂
May the force be with you always

Hello and welcome! :)
It’s very much allowed to buy a costume. You don’t have to make everything by yourself if you don’t want to. However, make sure you do a lot of research before buying. There are many poorly made costumes out there :/

The best resource is the Rebel Legion forum. Here is a link to the Jedi section. http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/ ... b9d48a7a1a

There is also something called ”costume standards” that is very, very good to check out if you haven’t already :) they are also on the rebel
Legion website (Google is your best friend) ;)

My Jedi cost about 7000 including the lightsaber. But I do not have a robe. They can be fairly expensive..

Hello 7000kr or Usd?
Well i was checking a app called wish they seemed to have complete jedi costumes don’t know the quality though, i’m no good at sewing stuff so making a complete jedi costume might be difficult lol 😊
So buying the robe it self is ok but the rest must or is preferd to make my self?
How about pants can i use any sort of pants?
Thanks will check those links

May the Force be with you
Petri 🙂

SEK :) I’m from Sweden too :)

I would not recommend Wish if you aim for a Rebel Legion approved costume.
You don’t have to make anything yourself. I had a seamstress make all my costumes. The pants for a Jedi are usually very simple. :)
A Jedi costume is usually a very good first costume. They are comfortable, fairly easy to get made (many people have them already so there is help to get!) and they usually aren’t too expensive.

Hello ok thanks
well it is mostly the robe that i think might be a bit hard to do
But i think for a guy that hasn’t used a sewing machine in ages might be a bit hard to make a Jedi costume well now i know a bit more thank you

We bought a Jedi from Wish for our 12-year old son. (As an extra costume besides the Jawa that already is approved for youngling use)
The design was good, the look in general and from a distance is ok. The material and craftmanship sucks! Especially the spats...
So we are going to use this as a toile for making another one by ourselves.

Of course you can buy one!
If you want one to wear on the premiere just for fun, there are many bought jedi costumes that’ll do the trick. Comfy and iconic. The lightsaber is usually popular among the other visitors :)

If you want one that’ll be approved there’s going to be a much higher demand on high quality and it’s recommended to check out the Rebel Legion forum before buying/making stuff :)

Good luck!
