I'll probably use that one but I want it thicker/heavier.
Hopefully the salesmen at Stoff & stil have some ideas how to solve that.
Cool! Do you have an article number on that?

And did you check it with the rustoleum paint?

I figured I could sew it like a pillow case to get two layers of fabric. Then it will not be so flimsy.

Here it is:

I didn't have any painted armor with me when I was there. Only the cap of the paint bottle.

Wake up little Susie, and smell the fire. Time get building again :)
Btw I was hurdling some golden girls over at Stoff & Stil this week and picked up that twill material.
I'll probably going to have time to put some claret wine on my hand plates this week.
I can then post some comparison pics for you.

I already bought it. And the shoulder thingie got a black undercoat this weekend, so it will be painted asap.

I'm going to use one of Biltemas car paints. It looks quite close to the fabric color.

Catch up ;-)

How are you going to sew your Kama? I'm thinking that a trapezoid form might look better than a square one.
Does your have the white trim?

Probably a slight trapezoid, haven't really checked yet.

No, no white trim (luckily), just the white straps to the clips.

And here's my pauldron after painting. It looks *very* red, but you know how the fabric should look like since it's the same. I think it's quite close. I used a black undercoat to get it a bit darker.

Sweet! Yes, it's quite close. The fabric is a little more to the blue. But this is when you hold them together. When the pauldron and Kama are in their right places I think it will be quite difficult to see that it's not the same color.

I had a small set back on my painting. Tiny little bubbles and twice the drying time. I guess I used too much paint.
Back to sanding...

It's the camera that makes it so red.

Thin. Thin. Thin. Thin layers. I think it took me 2-3 hours to get this done.

Have you got the clips for the kama straps?
I like these ones. Just gonna find them in the right size.

I read somewhere that the width of the strap should be 1/2 Inch. A precise and very common measurement that is...
