I'm in Sthlm. Would be great to catch up. My guess is you are probably coming into Nynäshamn, do you know if that is right?

We met at the Rose Parade ’ahile ago’ ;)
When you drive through Sweden, you are always welcome to stop by us in Gothenburg on the west coast!

Hello Scott! I have seen you around the forums for years, and I think we met briefly at a Celebration Europe. :)

Question - if you take a train, can you schedule it so you jump off in Finse and get on another train later and continue to Bergen?
Possibly, if you would leave Oslo early and arrive in Bergen late. Oslo-Bergen is over seven hours in total on the winding mountain tracks. Scenic though.
The train stops right at the entrance to the hotel where the cast and crew stayed. A few scenes were actually shot right outside the building on the other side, once literally through the door even, but that is not much to see.
The other shooting locations were mostly in the mountains far away across the lake. If you are lucky, you will have an impressive view of the mountains but if you are unlucky they will be shrouded in clouds. BTW. You may have to pack your own lunch.

Depending on the schedules, it would nice to meet you in Helsinki! There are plenty of other troopers here too.

We have an Ikea in my area, so I know full well. Before we had one close by, we would visit them while on vacation. I've been to an Ikea in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Miami, Orlando, Houston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, London, Cardiff and Berlin. Now that one is in Tampa, about 45 minutes away, I don't really care. But it would be funny to at least get a photo outside one in Sweden. Maybe get some meatballs, too. :)

So, since we have to circle back to the east in Norway to head south, would anyone recommend a route? We'd return the car in Copenhagen.

Scott

From Copenhagen to Oslo you will pass several beautiful cities... Malmo, Halmstad, Goteborg, Lysekil, Smogen....the Swedish west coast is really beautiful and if you ĺike seafood you will really LOVE it. Don't miss out to buy fresh shrimps in Smogen... it's far better than ikeas meatballs 😅.

Hope you will have a great time in Sweden!
