I think it's worth mentioning that RS is the only armor cast directly from original screen-used armor, and while this arguably makes it the most authentic armor, that authenticity comes with all the bumps and other imperfections that the original had. If you want movie accuracy that can be a good thing, but if you are going for the "idealized" look you might want to check out a fan sculpted option, like Troopermaster.

But TM is made to be the idealized Stormtrooper. You don't have the flaws that follows with the RS - which I guess would make it a bit easier to fit / put together. Also, bigger shoulder bells... got to love that! ;)

I am currently in the process of talking to the people at RS Propmasters, and discussing various things regarding the "A New Hope (Stunt)"-armor (the one I am planning on getting).
I sent them an email with a few questions, regarding sizes of armor parts and helmet, different versions of armor and so on.
Hopefully I will be able to place an order this week or the next. :)

Two new questions has popped into my mind, however:
1.
Are helmets with a built-in voice-distorter or radio michrophone a normal occurence?
Since I have seen many mechanical costumes (Jango Fett's movable antenna par example), I was wondering if this is something to consider.

2.
How does the actual membership approval work?
I mean, what do I do when I have received my armor - do I send photos to someone?
Finished costumes:
ANH Stunt Stormtrooper (stormie)
TFA Kylo Ren (kylo)
SKB Kylo Ren (kylo)

Awesome :)

1. No, not "out of the box". It can be added later if you want to. Most use what's called an Aker amp and a voicedistorter (iComm or RomFX). It's all plug and play.

2. Check 501st.com and nordicgarrison.net (how to join page) for details on that. As I remember, you need to fill out a form on the 501st page, then send an email with photos to gml[at]nordicgarrison[dot]com (check to see if that is the correct address).

I see...
I will certainly consider adding some sort of voice distorter eventually - would add some menace to the general look. ;)
Will check the costuming guide (I think it entailed some details about joining) - it won't really be useful until I actually have an armor, but it can be good to check out beforehand. :)

That, and a blaster. I bought the blaster first.... but I'm really missing an icomm or RomFX system.

Update:

I am now inte process of sending RS my measurements, and figuring out the total price (including shipping).
My initial plan was to have the armor before Halloween, but I had to give up that pretty quick... ^^
Now aiming for the TFA premiere instead! :D
